Betty Smith'S Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. margarine or butter
    1 c. strong coffee
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/4 c. dark cocoa
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    In large mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar.
    In heavy saucepan, combine butter, shortening, cocoa and coffee.
    Stir and heat to boiling.
    Pour boiling mixture over flour and sugar; add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla.
    Mix well, using wooden spoon or high speed electric mixer.
    Pour into well buttered 11 x 17 1/2-inch pan.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Pour frosting over brownies as soon as they come out of oven.
    Cool; cut into 48 bars.
