Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (1 lb.) cans red or kidney beans
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 lb. can (2 c.) tomatoes
    1 (8 oz.) can (1 c.) seasoned tomato sauce
    1 to 1 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 bay leaf
    dash of paprika
    dash of cayenne
Preparation
    Brown onion, green pepper and meat in a little hot fat.
    Add drained beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, salt, bay leaf, dash of paprika and dash of cayenne.
    Cover.
    Simmer 1 1/2 hours, adding reserved bean liquid or water, if needed.
    Makes 6 servings.
    Serves 6 to 8.
    Cooking time is 1 1/2 hours.
