Old Fashioned Apple Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. Crisco
    1 egg, separated
    milk
    6 heaping c. thin sliced apples
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2/3 c. crushed corn flakes
    1 egg white, beaten
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Sift flour, 1 tablespoon sugar and salt together; blend with Crisco.
    Add enough milk to egg yolk to make 2/3 cup liquid and add to first mixture.
    Blend and refrigerate an hour or overnight. Roll 1/2 dough.
    Use plenty of flour and place in a 10 x 12-inch pan.
    Put corn flakes on crust.
    Put the sliced apples, then 1 cup sugar and cinnamon.
    Top with rest of dough.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 40 minutes, until brown.
    Mix powdered sugar and lemon juice; pour on pie while hot.
    Serve hot or cold.
