Overnight Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. green pepper, diced
    2 1/4 c. mayonnaise
    8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
    6 oz. grated cheese
    4 hard-cooked eggs, sliced
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 c. diced celery
    10 oz. frozen peas
Preparation
    Layer vegetables in 9 x 13-inch casserole dish in following order:
    lettuce, celery, eggs, frozen peas (uncooked and not thawed), green pepper and onion.
    Place crumbled bacon on top.
