Skillet Hofbrau Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. margarine
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    2 medium apples, cored, pared and sliced
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    3 c. (12 oz.) frozen loose-pack hash brown potatoes
    1 lb. pkg. sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
    12 oz. smoked sausage links cut in half or 1-inch chunks Hillshire sausage
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. poppy seed
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
Preparation
    In 12-inch skillet or electric skillet melt margarine and add brown sugar.
    Stir in apples and onions.
    Cook, uncovered, until almost tender (about 3 minutes).
    Add potatoes, sauerkraut, sausage, poppy seed, salt and pepper and stir together.
    Simmer, covered, stirring occasionally 8 to 10 minutes.
    Serves 6.
