Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (6 1/2 oz.) cans minced clams
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. celery, finely diced
    2 c. carrots, diced
    2 c. potatoes, diced
    3/4 c. margarine
    3/4 c. flour
    1 qt. half and half (I use mocha mix)
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Drain clam juice and pour over vegetables.
    Add water to cover.
    Simmer 20 minutes or until tender.
    Melt butter; add flour and blend.
    Cook for 2 minutes.
    Add half and half.
    Cook until smooth; add clams and seasonings.
    Put together with vegetables. Serves 8 to 10.
