Orange-Date-Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 1/3 c. buttermilk
    4 c. all-purpose flour
    2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
    1 c. broken pecans, floured
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    1 lb. chopped dates
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar.
    Beat in eggs one at a time. Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
    Add sifted flour in about 3 parts to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk.
    Beat until smooth after each addition.
    Add orange rind, dates and pecans that have been floured.
    Bake in tube pan 1 1/2 hours at 350\u00b0.
