Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. cornmeal
1 c. all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
3 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 small can creamed corn
1/2 c. melted bacon drippings
1/2 to 3/4 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. cold water

Preparation

Combine all dry ingredients.
Blend in remaining ingredients. Drop by tablespoons into hot oil at 375\u00b0.
