Easy Fruit Dessert - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large or 2 small cans fruit of your choice in sweetened juice (not pie filling; cherry is especially good)
1/2 to 1 c. water
1/2 to 1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
dash of salt
Preparation

Pour fruit and juice in baking pan (8 x 12-inch) or similar size.
Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
If using peaches or pears, chop into small pieces.
Add 1/2 to 1 c. water and sugar to fruit.
Stir to dissolve sugar.
Put fruit into oven; heat to boiling in the baking pan.
Mix together flour, 1 cup sugar, milk, baking powder and salt.
Batter will be thin.
Pour over boiling fruit.
Do not stir. Bake at 325\u00b0 until crust is brown and cooked through.
Batter will rise to the top and form a crust on top.
Watch to see that it doesn't boil and adjust oven accordingly.
Bake 30 to 40 minutes.
