Thin Chicken Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg, beaten with enough water to make 2/3 c. liquid
Preparation
    Mix flour and salt in a mixing bowl.
    With pastry blender, blend in shortening (or butter).
    Beat egg and add enough water to make 2/3 cup of liquid.
    Mix all together with a fork.
    Knead into a smooth ball.
    Divide in half.
    Roll as thin as possible with a rolling pin.
    Cut in 1-inch squares and drop in hot chicken broth. Simmer 30 minutes.
