Yam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. mashed yams
    2 c. brown sugar, packed
    4 eggs
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. chopped nuts
    3/4 c. butter
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Boil yams, mash and let cool.
    In large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating after each egg.
    Stir in lemon juice and vanilla.
    Sift flour, soda, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg.
    Beat into first mixture; add nuts and turn into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until a wooden pick comes out clean.
