Sausage Pinwheels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. meal
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 lb. mild sausage
    3/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. sweet milk
Preparation
    Blend shortening with dry ingredients.
    Add milk and mix well. Turn onto floured surface and knead about 1 minute.
    Divide dough into 2 parts.
    Roll about 1/4-inch thick.
    Spread each half with 1/2 pound sausage, which has been softened to room temperature. Put rolls into refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight. Slice 1/4-inch thick.
    Bake in 400\u00b0 oven for about 15 to 20 minutes.
    Makes about 60 to 70.
