Chocolate Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. granulated sugar
    2/3 c. milk
    1 or 2 chocolate sq.
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. Karo syrup (clear)
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Preparation
    Cook first 5 ingredients together slowly until 238\u00b0 or soft ball stage in cold water.
    Remove from heat; add vanilla and butter.
    Let stand without stirring until lukewarm.
    Beat until creamy and candy has lost all shine.
    Pour onto a greased pan. Cut into squares.
