Corned Beef - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 or 4 lb. corned beef brisket
    2 onions, sliced
    2 cloves garlic
    6 whole cloves
    2 bay leaves
    6 medium potatoes
    6 small carrots
    6 cabbage wedges
Preparation
    Put first 5 ingredients in heavy roaster and simmer one hour per pound.
    When nearly done, add the vegetables.
    To serve, slice beef and place on platter putting vegetables around the meat.
