Ingredients

3 eggs
1 c. granulated sugar, sifted
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 Tbsp. anise seed
Preparation

The day before, in a large bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat the eggs until light.
Gradually add the sugar, while beating.
Beat 10 minutes. Sift the flour with the baking powder. Add to egg mixture with the vanilla extract, while beating at low speed until well blended.
Stir in the anise seed. At once, drop by heaping teaspoonful on greased cookie sheets.
Let stand out overnight, uncovered.
