Baked Chicken With Almond Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. chicken, cut up
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. chicken stock
    1 c. uncooked long grain rice
    1 c. fresh, sliced mushrooms, undrained
    1 small onion, chopped fine
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. slivered almonds
Preparation
    Brown chicken on all sides in butter in a large skillet.
    In a separate pan, combine chicken stock, rice, mushrooms, onions and salt.
    Simmer rapidly for 5 minutes.
    Stir almonds into rice mixture and pour into a 2-quart casserole.
    Top with browned chicken pieces.
    Cover and bake at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until done.
    Serves 4 to 6.
