Navy Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. navy beans
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 large carrot, shredded
    1 stalk celery, chopped
    1/2 stick oleo
    pepper to taste
    1 lb. ham
    water
Preparation
    Combine beans, onions, carrot and oleo in a large pot.
    Cover with water.
    Pepper to taste.
    Cook until beans and vegetables are tender.
    Add ham the last 20 minutes of cooking time.
    Serve with corn bread or corn sticks.
