Buttermilk Chocolate Bread - cooking recipe

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. margarine, soft
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease bottom only of 8 x 4-inch or 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
In large bowl, combine sugar and margarine; blend thoroughly.
Add eggs; mix well.
Stir in buttermilk. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
Add flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt and soda.
Stir just until dry particles are moistened. Stir in nuts.
Pour into pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 55 to 65 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan 15 minutes. Remove from pan, cool completely and slice.
