Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 lb. cucumbers
    2/3 c. salt
    1 lb. or 2 c. sliced onions
    1 pod red pepper
    4 c. vinegar
    4 c. sugar (brown or white)
    2 tsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 ginger root
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Cook cucumbers in salt water overnight.
    Drain for 10 minutes in colander, then mix onions and other stuff.
    Let simmer for 15 minutes.
