Brown Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. rye flour
1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. walnuts
2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. dark molasses
Preparation

Mix flours, cornmeal, baking soda and salt together.
Add raisins and nuts.
Slowly add buttermilk and molasses alternately to dry ingredients after each addition.
Pour into buttered 9-inch loaf pan.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 50 minutes, or tested done.
Let stand in pan on wire rack for 5 minutes.
Loosen side with knife; turn out on rack.
Brush with butter while still warm.
Cool before cutting.
