Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. dark Karo syrup
    1/2 c. cold water
    2 Tbsp. butter
    3/4 lb. or 2 c. peanuts
    1 rounded tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Mix sugar, Karo syrup and cold water.
    Cook to 242\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Stir occasionally.
    Remove from heat; add butter and peanuts.
    Continue cooking to 292\u00b0.
    Remove from heat and add 1 rounded teaspoonful baking soda.
    Mix quickly and pour onto buttered pan or pans.
    Cool slightly and pull until thin.
    Cool. Break into pieces and store in airtight container.
