Ingredients

1 pt. sour milk
1 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 tsp. soda
3 heaping Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
flour (enough to handle easily)
1 qt. white corn syrup
1 lb. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. maple flavoring
1/2 c. bacon grease

Preparation

Boil together corn syrup and brown sugar and add maple flavoring.
Take off fire and beat in bacon grease.
