Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    1 doz. eggs
    3 1/2 c. sugar
    5 c. flour
    1 heaping tsp. baking powder
    1 oz. cinnamon
    1/2 oz. cloves
    1/2 oz. mace
    1/2 oz. nutmeg
    1/2 oz. lemon extract
    1 lb. each raisins, figs, dates, citron, pecans, almonds and walnuts
    1 pt. brandy or sweet pickle juice is a good substitute
Preparation
    Cream the sugar and butter, then add eggs, one at a time, breaking the whole egg into the batter and beating hard.
    Add alternately 3 cups flour, then take the remaining 2 cups flour and add spices to it and sift 2 or 3 times.
    Dredge fruit with this, adding that last to your cake. This makes 2 large cakes.
