Spicy Italian Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/8 c. olive oil
    8 oz. onion, diced
    4 oz. diced celery
    1/4 tsp. hot pepper flakes
    1/2 tsp. thyme leaf
    3 Tbsp. chopped garlic
    1/2 head new cabbage, diced
    3 lb. (1 medium) head cabbage
    1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper (black)
    1 can (16 oz.) tomato sauce (Hunt's)
    1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
Preparation
    Heat olive oil, add onion and celery and \"sweat\" for 10 minutes over medium heat.
    Stir; add herbs, spices, garlic and cook 3 minutes.
    Add tomato sauce, parsley and stir in well.
    Add diced cabbage, cover lightly and cook for 20 minutes until cabbage is tender.
    Remove from heat, add salt and pepper, Parmesan cheese and mix well.
    Place in casserole and bake for 25 minutes.
    Serve hot with extra Parmesan cheese.
