Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. nuts
    3/4 c. raisins
    1/3 c. bourbon
    6 eggs, separated
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Soak nuts and raisins in bourbon for 2 hours.
    Drain, saving liquid for cake.
    Cream butter and 1/2 the sugar well; add egg yolks.
    Beat well.
    Add flour and bourbon, rotating.
    Add vanilla; mix well.
    Mix in nuts and raisins.
    Beat egg whites until stiff. Add the other 1/2 sugar.
    Fold into dough.
    Bake at 275\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    Makes 2 loaves.
