1 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. milk
2 Tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. very hot water
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Sift together the flour, salt, sugar, baking powder and 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa.
Combine vanilla, milk and butter and stir into dry ingredients.
Fold in pecans.
Pour into a greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
Combine white and brown sugars with 4 tablespoons cocoa.
Mix with hot water, stirring to dissolve.
Pour over the batter in the pan.
Bake 45 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
