Lentil Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. lentils
1 qt. water
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. finely chopped onion
1 c. diced carrot
1 stalk dried celery
1/2 bay leaf
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 c. canned tomatoes, cut up
2 Tbsp. butter
3 hot dogs or 1/4 lb. Longaniza sausage
Preparation

Wash lentils.
Add water, salt, onion, carrot, celery, bay leaf and thyme.
Cook slowly for about 45 minutes.
Add tomatoes, butter and meat and heat well.
(Tomatoes may be cooked with lentils, etc. if preferred.)
Yield:
6 to 8 (1 cup) servings.
