Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 whole chicken plus 2 thighs and legs, cut up
2 chicken bouillon cubes
Salt and pepper to taste
2 c. self-rising flour
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. sweet milk
Preparation

Cover chicken with water.
Add bouillon cubes.\tCook until done.
Debone chicken.
Mix flour and Crisco.
Add buttermilk. Make a stiff dough.
Roll out on a floured pastry cloth.
Be sure the pastry is very thin.
Cut into squares.
Drop pastry squares into boiling chicken broth.
Let the dumplings cook on medium for 15 to 20 minutes.
Add chicken.
Stir under the dumplings.\tAdd sweet milk.
Cook covered for 30 minutes on low.
