Date Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 c. dates, chopped
    2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 egg, beaten
    3 3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. nut meats
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Pour
    boiling
    water
    over chopped dates.
    Cream melted butter and sugar together.
    Add the beaten egg.
    Mix the flour and dry ingredients.
    Add the dry ingredients, dates and water alternately;
    beat
    together.
    Add nuts and vanilla.
    Bake for 50 to 60 minutes at 350\u00b0.
