Molasses Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. soda
    3 1/2 c. plain flour
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/8 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream together the shortening and sugar.
    Blend in molasses and eggs.
    Stir soda into water.
    Sift together the flour, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt.
    Add alternately with water-soda mixture.
    Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 275\u00b0 for 20 minutes, or until center springs back to touch.
