Raised Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cake compressed yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    1 c. milk, scalded and cooled
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. melted butter
    2 eggs
    vanilla (a few drops)
    3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Moisten yeast in lukewarm water.
    Add to remaining ingredients to make a light dough.
    Let raise 2 or 3 times.
    Make into doughnuts.
    Let raise again and fry in hot lard.
    This dough is also nice for five hour hot rolls.
