Peachy Macaroon Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (29 oz.) can sliced peaches, drained
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. sliced almonds
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Drain peaches and set aside.
    Cream butter or margarine and sugar until fluffy; beat in egg and extract.
    Thoroughly mix flour, baking powder and salt.
    Beat into creamed mixture.
    Spread dough into a greased 9 x 9-inch pan. Arrange peach slices on top of dough; sprinkle with almonds.
    Bake 1 hour or until golden brown.
