Ingredients

3 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. milk
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Cream butter. Add sugar gradually.
Cream until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Alternately add flour mixture and milk, beating until blended after each addition.
Wrap dough in foil or plastic wrap and chill several hours or overnight.
