Custard Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. dry bread, cut in cubes
    8 c. scalded milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    8 eggs, slightly beaten
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Soak the bread in the scalded milk for 5 minutes.
    Add to this (after the 5 minutes soak) the salt, butter or margarine and sugar.
    Pour the mixture slowly over the eggs.
    Add vanilla.
    Pour into a large, greased baking dish.
    Place dish in pan of hot water.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
