White Christmas Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. sour cream
    1/3 c. white corn syrup
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. quartered red and green candied cherries
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Mix sugar, sour cream, corn syrup, butter and salt in pan; bring to a boil slowly.
    Stir until sugar dissolves.
    Boil over medium heat until soft ball stage (236\u00b0 on candy thermometer). Remove from heat; let stand 15 minutes.
    Add vanilla; beat until mixture starts to loose gloss (may take 5 to 8 minutes).
    Stir in cherries and nuts.
    Pour quickly into greased shallow pan.
    Cool and then cut into squares.
