Homemade Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. lukewarm water
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 pkg. yeast
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 heaping Tbsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. warm water
    enough flour to thicken (about 4 1/2 to 5 c.)
Preparation
    Mix the first 3 ingredients; let stand 5 minutes.
    Be sure water is not hot.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Let set until it rises (double in size).
    Pour onto floured board; knead about 8 minutes.
    This can be put in refrigerator and covered.
    You may use small amounts at a time.
