Ingredients

1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. ground or finely chopped almonds or pecans
powdered sugar
Preparation

Cream shortening and butter until light and fluffy.
Add 1 cup powdered sugar and salt and cream well.
Blend in flour.
Add water and vanilla; mix well.
Stir in pecans.
Shape into 1-inch balls and slightly flatten.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 325\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes, until done.
Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
Makes 8 dozen.
