Chinese Hot And Sour Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. chicken broth
    1/2 c. canned whole straw mushrooms
    1/2 c. canned bamboo shoots, halved lengthwise
    1 small onion, sliced
    1/4 c. rice wine vinegar or white wine vinegar
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
    6 whole black peppers
    12 oz. skinless pike, sea bass or sea trout fillets
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 Tbsp. cold water
    1 beaten egg or egg substitute
    1 green onion, thinly sliced
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, combine the chicken broth, straw mushrooms, bamboo shoots, small sliced onion, vinegar, soy sauce, red pepper and whole peppers.
    Bring to boiling, then reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
