Persimmon Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. persimmon pulp
    1 tsp. baking soda (sprinkled over pulp)
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves, salt and nutmeg
    1 c. raisins or nuts
Preparation
    Beat first 4 ingredients until creamy. Add egg and then rest of the ingredients.
    Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet, spreading the dough slightly.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 from 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
