Ingredients

1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
bread triangles or French bread slices
Preparation

Beat egg white with sugar until stiff. Set aside. Beat
egg yolk; add flour, milk, salt and baking powder. Fold in egg white. Dip bread in batter and fry in 1/2 to 1-inch hot oil. Serve with powdered sugar or syrup. Serves 4.
