Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. dark corn syrup
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. pecan halves
Preparation
    Butter sides of a heavy saucepan.
    In it, combine sugars, corn syrup and milk.
    Heat and stir over medium heat until sugars dissolve and mixture comes to a boil. Cook to soft ball (234\u00b0) stage, stirring occasionally.
    Cool 10 minutes.
    Add vanilla and beat by hand 2 minutes. Add pecans and beat until mixture loses its gloss. Drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper.
    If candy becomes too stiff, add a teaspoon or so of hot water.
