Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dry gr. split peas
    2 qt. water
    1 lb. meaty ham bones
    salt to taste
    5 peppercorns
    1/2 c. chopped celery leaves
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 bay leaf
Preparation
    Soak peas in water before cooking.
    Put all ingredients in crock-pot and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or on high for 5 to 6 hours.
    Makes 2 1/2 quarts.
