Louisiana Creamed Ham And Turkey - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    3 Tbsp. finely chopped onion, celery and green pepper
    3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. each: red and black pepper
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
    1 c. milk
    1/2 c. half and half
    1 c. diced, cooked ham
    1 c. diced, cooked turkey
Preparation
    Melt butter in medium saucepan.
    Saute onion, celery and green pepper until softened, but not browned, about 5 minutes.
    Stir in flour.
    Cook for a minute.
    Add salt, peppers and thyme.
    Slowly stir in milk, combining well with flour mixture.
    Add half and half.
    Stir and cook until thickened.
    Add ham and turkey.
    Heat thoroughly, but do not boil.
    Serve immediately or cover and keep warm until ready to serve.
