Indian Fried Bread(Sopaipillas) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. lard or shortening
3/4 c. warm water or less
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Mix flour, salt and baking powder in large bowl.
Add lard or shortening to dry ingredients and mix well with hands.
Gradually add water making sure dough does not become sticky but results in doughy pliable texture.
If dough gets too sticky, sprinkle with flour.
Form 6 to 8 balls.
Roll out with rolling pin.
Cut in 4 pieces.
Fry in 1 1/2-inch oil or shortening.
Prick once in middle before frying.
