Pasta And Bean Soup(Inexpensive And Nutritious) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. elbows or medium shells
    1 (16 oz.) Progresso chickpeas, do not drain
    1/4 c. olive oil
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 chicken bouillon (optional)
    1 sliced red onion (optional)
Preparation
    Bring water to rapid boil. Add garlic, salt, pepper, chickpeas (with juice) and oil.
    Bring
    to rolling boil.
    Add pasta (and onion and bouillon, if desired). Cook until pasta is tender. Do not drain.
    Serve with grated Parmesan or Romano cheese and a loaf of crisp bread.
    This soup may be reheated in microwave.
