Apple Butter - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 to 1 1/2 gal. cider or apple juice
20 to 25 medium-large apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1/8's
white sugar (optional)
cinnamon (optional)
cloves (optional)
Preparation

Boil cider or juice until reduced by 1/2.
Add apples.
Cook 1/2 hour or until tender.
Put apples through food press and return to pan.
Cook again until thickened.
Add sugar and spices (if desired) to taste and cook until sugar is dissolved.
Follow canning instructions from your canner to process.
