Fudge Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    2 1/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3 eggs
    3 c. sifted cake flour
    3 sq. melted unsweetened chocolate
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 c. ice water
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar and vanilla with mixer.
    Add eggs, beating until light and fluffy.
    Add melted chocolate and blend well.
    Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with water to chocolate mixture.
    Pour batter into three 8 or 9-inch pans which have been greased and lined with waxed paper.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cool.
    Put layers together with date filling.
    Frost with favorite fudge frosting.
