Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 c. white sugar
    2 unbeaten eggs
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. Mother's oats (quick cooking)
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Beat together the shortening, sugars and eggs.
    Sift the flour, cinnamon, soda and salt.
    Add oats.
    Add dry ingredients and boiling water to first mixture and mix.
    (This batter will be very thin, but it thickens as it bakes.)
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 40 minutes in a greased 8-inch pan.
