Dutch Succotash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. corn
    1 1/2 c. potatoes
    1 pt. stewed tomatoes
    2 Tbsp. bacon fat or butter
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 qt. boiling water
    1 pt. green lima beans
    1 green pepper
    2 onions
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In cooking pot melt the butter or fat and then put in the minced onions and minced green pepper, the corn and lima beans. Cook for 1 minute, then add the potatoes, diced and 1 quart of boiling water.
    Cook until tender, stir in the sugar, tomatoes, salt and pepper.
    Serve with dumplings (Pennsylvania Dutch).
