*Hard Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. light Karo syrup
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. water
    1 tsp. oil flavoring
Preparation
    Mix together in saucepan the water, syrup and sugar.
    Stir until sugar appears to be dissolved.
    Cook, without stirring, until 300\u00b0 on a candy thermometer is reached.
    Wipe down sides of pan and add flavoring and coloring until evenly distributed.
    Pour at once on a buttered and lightly sprinkled with 10x sugar cookie sheet.
    As soon as it cools enough to handle, cut into small pieces and drop into a bowl.
    Sprinkle again lightly with 10x sugar to prevent sticking together.
    Makes about 1 pound.
    For each different flavoring, use a different food coloring.
